Rugby is Fun
The number 1 reason kids should play rugby is because it is fun. At KWP we want our kids to have a ball! Sure competition comes in around U10s, however we will always encourage playing for the enjoyment of the game.
Friendship
KWP rugby is famous for the friendships made at our club. Our kids often form life long bonds with teammates as they progress through the age groups. Parents also form lasting friendship groups built around having kids the same age. The club holds regular social nights designed to bring the community together in a fun and relaxed way.
Coaching
Coaching at KWP is more than teaching the skills and laws of the game. We want our kids to grow in to fine young people full of confidence and skills obtained through playing a team sport. We are fortunate to have a paid club coach mentoring our volunteer coaches, ensuring consistency and quality in the coaching received.
Safety
Rugby is taking great steps to ensure the game is as safe as it can be for our kids. From field set-up to concussion laws the game continues to focus on player safety. At KWP we have a qualified physio on the sideline of every juniors (U10-U18) home game. Nothing is more important than the safety of our players.
